<<<<<<<<<<<< FUNERALS AND MEMORIALS >>>>>>>>>>>>
I will come be with your family in whatever capacity you need me when a loved one passes. In this role, I am compassionate, supportive, loving, gentle, and respectful. Each family member has his/her own way of processing grief and each will want different kinds of support during this time. For instance, for some it’s helpful to verbalize in the days after a passing, for others, being quiet and going within is just the right thing. It is my role to sense what each of you need and to provide that kind of support.
It is also my role to support whatever spiritual and/or non-spiritual beliefs were true for your loved one, and any other important beliefs of family members present.
There are many different points during the grieving process that I can be with you, such as…
• Being with your loved one and family as passing approaches.
• Funeral ceremony officiation with pre-funeral meeting to create a meaningful ceremony with you- taking cue from your ideas or supplying you with ideas if that is most helpful.
• Processional and graveside ceremony.
• Spiritual counseling and support on the funeral day and/or in the days before.
• Grief support in the days, weeks or months after your loved one’s passing.
• Dedication or commemoration events in the months after the funeral.
HOW IT WORKS
If you are a family with whom I have already worked (e.g. wedding, blessings, any kind of ceremony), then I am already in service to you and there is no charge to come be with you and/or be with your loved one as they pass.
Regarding the funeral or memorial itself, because each family’s need around a loved one’s passing is different, I do not have a set fee structure. Fees can run somewhere between $250 - 500, depending on the various elements that your family can choose to include - funeral creation meeting, creation/writing of the ceremony, ceremony officiation, processional and graveside ceremony, and grief support before and on the day of the funeral.
Of course every element of the day will be personalized to fit your family’s vision for the event and to represent your loved one. If we have not yet worked together, we will first talk over the phone to make sure that I'm the right officiant for you, and then we'll have an in-person meeting with important family and friends so that I can hear stories, see photos and gather a very clear picture of the deceased and his/her important relationships. From there I will write the ceremony, making sure to include the ceremony elements that you have chosen, and any participation/speaking from family members.
Much love, Lisa
