Adventure Elopement: To Be Unequivocally You

The Soul Of Peyton & Genia’s Adventure Elopement:

To Relax Into What Happens When It’s “Just Us”

In my first few minutes on the phone with Peyton & Genia, I heard them say what so many eloping couples say to me: We chose to elope because we want the day to be all about our connection.

They also described a bit more about themselves in particular: We love being with other people, and at the same time, when it’s just us, there is something that happens that is so special - we are each 100% our authentic selves when we are together. We want that on our wedding day.

So we planned a simple mini journey focused on these two just being able to relax into the beauty of nature and enjoy each other.

And wow, did they do just that! Peyton and Genia arrived full of joy and excitement to experience the mountain and to bliss out on their connection. These two glow when they’re together.

We hiked through a beautiful forest to play and have fun, and also went to a breathtaking overlook for their ceremony. Along the way, there was dancing, goofiness, meaningful conversation and deep abiding love.

Join us as we tell the photo story of these two and their day…

Changing from hiking shoes to fancy wedding shoes (and that’s varying degrees of “fancy” when it comes to our couples) is a typical activity during our elopements. Peyton and Genia found some handy rock seating for just such a task…

Then it was time to settle into the ceremony. We started by simply taking in the view. Like, wow, right?

These two were so blissed out and present with each other throughout the entire ceremony. It was beautiful to witness. We started with a reading about how love is seeing in your partner the things that no one else gets to see, and recognizing as beautiful what your partner might not even recognize in themselves.

Peyton & Genia did repeat-after-me vows that spoke to the importance of accepting your love for not only all that they are, but also all that they are not. Such an important thing for all married couples to remember.

When it came time for rings, I love this photo of Peyton - you can tell she can’t wait to have that ring on her finger!

Time for the marriage license signing. We love deciding in the moment where we will do this with each couple. There is always some cool rock to use as a table or in this case a rock to lean on while using my folder as a surface to sign. These two immediately took a selfie to share with loved ones back home.

Married!

Next up, more of the mini adventure. We explored the pine forests and meadows, and now that vows were exchanged, these two went into playful mode while also soaking in the romance and joy of being officially married. What an end to a gorgeous day. Congratulations Peyton and Genia, we love you!
