Like A Beach Party With Formal Wear - At Garden of the Gods Resort

The Heart Of Whitney & Grant’s Wedding Ceremony:

To Simply Relax And Have Fun

Whitney and Grant were having a wedding with formal attire, and at the same time they wanted to have a very relaxed, laid-back and fun ceremony experience.

We kept coming back to the phrase "kinda like a beach party but with formal wear", so I wrote a ceremony to fit with this vibe.

The beauty of Whitney & Grant’s wedding passage and ceremony was the simplicity of their goal: we just want to have fun.

So that’s what we did! We told their love story which had roots way back to when they were in high school, we did a sand ceremony and we even created our own little mini ceremony to involve the guests in a blessing for the couple.

Relax, kick back and come along for our beach vibe in the mountains wedding photo story…

Setting The Scene

Garden of the Gods Resort & Club is a spectacular spot for a ceremony. The view, the red rocks… breathtaking.

I also love that whenever you go to this venue, there are always a lot of bunnies around, and sure enough there were bunnies everywhere on Whitney & Grant’s day. I take it as a nice blessing on the couple from Mother Nature ;)

These two had a lively and fun wedding party crew too, which all the more contributed to the relaxed party vibe of the day.

Let’s Get It Started

We had a traditional processional with bridesmaids and groomsmen walking paired, led by Grant with both sets of parents.

There was a ring bearer, or should we say “sign-bearer” in this case, then Whitney walked the aisle with her father.

Ceremony Highlights

Grant’s mom shared a reading to open the ceremony, then I got to talk about how these two never would have guessed in a million years when they were in high school (and not dating) that they would be getting married.

It was a full-circle story, with them finding each other later down the road and building a life together with the same vibe as our ceremony: relaxed, laid-back, meaningful and fun.

Whitney and Grant said I Do’s that were customized for what marriage means to them and they did traditional repeat-after-me vows that we adapted to fit their style.

We did a sand ceremony after vows to bring home what a shared life together means specifically to Whitney and Grant.

Before rings were exchanged, we also sent around baskets to gather written wishes and advice for marriage that Whitney and Grant had requested of their guests. It was so cool to see the baskets overflowing with pieces of paper full of love and wisdom to guide these two in the married years to come.

Then the ring exchange, a blessing, the kiss and…

Married!

Congratulations, Whitney & Grant!

May you be blessed with an abundance of life, love, health and happiness for the rest of your years to come. May you raise a happy and healthy family, fulfill your career aspirations, work together as a team, have many adventures, travel the world and live your dreams.
