Nikki & Scott - It's In The Stars

The Heart Of Nikki & Scott’s Wedding Ceremony:

Cosmic Timing And Love That Was Meant To Be

During Nikki & Scott’s wedding passage journey, we talked a lot about the theme of cosmic timing in their relationship. These two almost met each other several times throughout a thirteen-year time frame. There were so many near misses on the way to their first meeting, that when they finally did meet, it felt like their love was clearly meant to be.

I wrote a non-religious ceremony for them, and the themes of stars, the moon and synchronicity, all of which had deeply touched their relationship, gave their ceremony a spiritual feel.

For Scott and Nikki, the ceremony was not just about their relationship, it was also an official way to say, “Okay, we are now one big happy family.” For this reason, Scott’s children played important roles throughout the ceremony, and Scott & Nikki's new baby was part of the processional.

To see what we did during their ceremony, come along for their photo story below…

Setting The Scene

Nikki & Scott’s ceremony was at lovely River Bend with it’s striking red rock cliffs and the lively St. Vrain River winding through the entire property.

Let’s Get It Started

First we had the children’s processional - baby Millie came down the aisle in a wagon pulled by her sister Cheyenne. Then our flower girls. Two grandmothers were on hand to make sure everyone went in the right direction ;)

Our sweet ring bearer Nemo the dog made his way down the aisle too. Then Nikki walked with her father.

Ceremony Highlights

Scott’s brother did a reading about marriage and science and meteors and love. It fit perfectly with the cosmic timing theme.

Then I shared about Nikki and Scott’s many “almost encounters” and then the moment that they finally met. A cool fact about their relationship - their first years of dating were long distance and every single time that they traveled to see one another, it was a full moon. They weren’t trying for this, it’s just how the timing worked!

This was a relaxed and fun ceremony with plenty of meaning and plenty of laughter…

We did a hand fasting ceremony to involve Cheyenne & Skyler - the hand fasting cord was made of ribbons that they wove together themselves, and they were the ones to tie the knot around Nikki and Scott’s clasped hands during the ceremony.

While hand fasted, Nikki and Scott did repeat-after-me vows and customized I Do’s to fit their style and the way that they view marriage and relationship.

As a blessing on the ring exchange, Nikki’s sister read a poem.

Skyler, Scott’s son, was also his Best Man. He kept track of the rings and handed them to us when it was time.

We had a “stand-in ring” for Scott because he wants his permanent ring to be made from a meteor stone (seriously, you can do that!). In his own words, “A meteor can travel for eons and eons and then by a split chance it collides with another one and the course of both meteors is forever changed. It’s symbolic of our past, present and future and of the miracle, really, that we finally met.”

After rings, these two did a rose exchange as their first gift to one another and to start a tradition that there will be a special place for roses in their home.

Married!

Congratulations, Nikki & Scott

May you keep each others’ hearts loved and protected. May the spark between you continue to shine as brightly as the day you first met. May you live adventurously, love these children fully and do whatever it takes for this beautiful family that you have created. So much love, Lisa.
