It's easy to forget amidst all the hub-bub of preparing for a wedding, but the ceremony (and your connection) is actually the most important part of the whole day!

My expertise is to get to know the two of you well, and to write a ceremony that tells your love story in the way that truly fits your style. At the end of the day you will say to yourselves, “That is exactly what we wanted to experience, and actually even more than we could have imagined."

This looks different for every couple, and that’s the joy of this process - getting to know you, discovering who you are, and writing a ceremony that reflects you in every moment and in every little detail.

My Ceremony Creation Process

Just like a wedding planner oversees the event and party logistics that make it all happen, my expertise is to oversee the relationship-deepening level of your wedding experience.

This is the secret sauce that makes for the most amazing ceremonies.

Our modern wedding culture typically focuses on event planning (flowers, food, the party etc), with the ceremony and the relationship almost as an afterthought. If you’re one of my couples, you’ve been thinking, “This is all great, and it seems like there’s an opportunity here for our relationship. Is there anyone who is in charge of that?”

That’s me! My expertise is to guide your relationship in the months before your wedding, all building up to the most beautiful and profound ceremony on the day of.

Custom Ceremony Creation

This is where it gets really good! Once you decide to work with me, we explore who you are individually, who you are together, what you envision for your shared life, and your spiritual or non-spiritual style.

We might decide to have an over-arching theme, add in readings or songs, have me tell your love story, give friends or family roles in your ceremony, and lots more options to choose from.

We might also add in something like a rose ceremony or tree planting or hand fasting or a wine box ceremony - just a few of many meaningful rituals in my big collection of ceremony ideas. There may be a particular tradition to include that is important to your family. We may even come up with a unique ritual of your own.

Or, you might feel your style is to keep it very, very simple. We'll determine all of that together, and I’ll write the ceremony that beautifully expresses your connection while fully engaging your guests along the way. On the day of, we will laugh, cry, reflect and have so much fun.

Also, many couples ask about ceremony length. My ceremonies range from 20 to 30 minutes depending on what you choose to include. My style is to pack a ton of meaning into a short amount of time so that everyone is engaged, feeling deeply and enjoying the entire way through.

My vow-writing kit gives you examples of vows to choose from, or if you want to write your own vows from scratch, it guides you step-by-step to write them authentically and from your heart.

The Vow Kit not only shows you how to pick or write your vows, it also facilitates you to create a clear set of guiding principles to keep your relationship strong and always coming back to what matters most.

By using the Kit, your vows will be so much more than a bunch of beautiful words or random promises. They will be a powerful tool to revisit again and again in your married life to come. A tool that came directly from the heart and soul of your relationship.

Officiating On The Day-Of

Ceremony Logistics

I officiate your ceremony, with arrival one hour before your start time to help with any processional and ceremony details, to facilitate any day-of rehearsing, and to generally be present as a support.

Pre-Ceremony Centering

I love to help my couples feel more calm and relaxed before the big event. If you want, I will do a pre-ceremony meditation with you that helps you stay focused on what matters most - your love.

In the days before your wedding, you’ll also get sweet reminders from me that will keep you from getting emotionally bounced around by the many external forces (family, logistics, etc) that can impact your experience.

Extra Perk

Once I work with a couple, I consider myself available as your "family minister". This means that should you ever need spiritual support in a style that fits you, I’m there. I will also know you well, so you can have me officiate home blessings,  baby blessings, and any other spiritually meaningful life passages in the years to come.

If you’re one of my couples, you value the ceremony as the most important part of your day, and you value staying truly connected to one another as the most important part of your entire wedding experience - on the day-of, and in the months before.

Not that there’s anything wrong with event planning, but with me on board, we will make your day about so much more than event planning. I will oversee the love and relationship aspect of your wedding passage - the part that is about learning, growth and connection.

My fee reflects my many years of officiating and the depth of the experience that we will have together. Officiating is my full-time occupation, so when you sign on as one of my couples, you have my full focus. Your experience will be truly hand-crafted, unique and special.
